Piet Mondrian art work

We looked at some paintings by the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian and responded with some of our own art work in his style.

Here is what some of the girls wrote about this artist & how they did the pictures:
  • What you need: Red, blue and yellow paint, black paper or a black marker and a rule.
  • What you do: Draw squares and rectangles, big and small on the paper. Paint in the squares. Then get black paper and cut it into strips, or if you want to go for the marker, you can use a ruler and a marker and line the page.
  • What I liked: It is colourful, it is nice, I like the squares and rectangles.

  • Who is the artist: The artist is called Piet Mondrian, he is a Dutch artist, from Holland.
  • How did we do the art: We got a ruler and carefully did lines to show the rectangles and squares.  Then we painted the squares and rectangles in red, blue, black, white and yellow.  We used them because they are the primary colours.  Then when they were dried, we got a black sheet of paper, but them up, but them in between the squares and rectangles, and then we were done!
  • What I liked: I liked everything about Piet Mondrian's art.
